Old photographs of our ancestors allow us to visually connect with our relatives from long ago. Unfortunately, many of those photographs have faded, become cracked, or are missing pieces from the original picture. However, they can be restored to their original glory!

Professional photographer and photo restoration specialist Mark Madere shows how your photos can be beautifully restored and preserved. Learn what causes damage and fading of photographs (and how to avoid this), and how these seemingly unsalvageable pictures can be restored through digital artistry. Mark will also share the key questions to ask when selecting a company to restore your photographs to ensure a positive outcome.

Mark Madere is the owner and lead portrait designer for SpectraLight Photography (https://spectralight.com/photo-restoration) based in Northeast Ohio. He is a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Associate Degree in Specialized Technology, majoring in Photography/Multimedia. Mark has photographed for two international news services: the Associated Press and United Press International. He has also done medical and public relations photography for several hospitals throughout the Cleveland area.

In addition, he has taught classes at Cuyahoga Community College, the Olmsted Falls Adult Education Program and the Olmsted Falls Public Library, as well as presented lectures to the American Trade Exchange, Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE), Eldercare Professionals of Ohio, University Hospitals Eye Institute, several professional photographers associations, civic groups, and various classrooms through the Polaris Career Center.
