Join the Erie Shores Photography Club on Wednesday, Feb. 1st at 6:30pm as speaker Jon Theobald speaks on Street Photography ("Not A Lot Of Pretty Pictures"). This program will be a one hour and 45-minute (approx.) look into what Street Photography is and isn't, various approaches to it, what equipment can be used, techniques, legal and moral issues surrounding it, its challenges.

Bio: Jon is a native Clevelander now living in Avon. He taught Elementary, High School and special needs students in the Cleveland Public School System for more than 31 years and is now retired.
He is an amateur photographer who started photographing in his late twenties. This eventually turned into photos of him jumping into the air at more than 2,500 places around the world for more than 35 years. The majority were selfies but other people, mostly strangers, who were coaxed into taking some of the photos for him. These were at iconic, historical, amazing, or odd places and with some interesting people.

In 2010, the Plain Dealer did a frontpage story about his hobby. Several of his photos were featured. Because of his extensive travels (124 countries and 49 states) he has done lectures on travel using his photos. He has also done, and still does, a lot of volunteer photography for different non-profits including portrait shots, classical music events, fund raisers, etc. Often his photos have been used in newspapers and other venues and for the past 9 years he has done mostly street photography.

The Erie Shores Photography Club presents speakers on the first Wednesday of the month.
On the third Wednesday, the Photography Club members will present their work for competition.
The public is welcome to attend.
