Event Details
In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Avon Lake Public Library is hosting a Make-and-Take event to encourage patrons to tap in to their creativity through Black-Out Poetry. This unique and accessible art form asks the poet to transform existing text - pages from books, magazines, or newspapers - into their own original poetry. No prior writing or artistic experience is necessary.
The packet will contain instructions, several examples, and a variety of blank book pages for participants to transform. Participants will need to provide their own black marker or crayon for blacking out the surrounding print.
